Bulls and Bears….Who’s Right?

Stock Markets TodayI read an article that appeared in the Wall Street Journal on November 23, 2013. The stock markets today are as confusing as ever. This blog post is one you will definitely want to read. I decided to shoot a video about what I read, and I believe it’s one of my best videos to date. In the video I explain what I learned is this article. It’s timely information you need to know. Let me ask you….are you a Bull or a Bear?

Folks, the stock market is not for everyone. If fact, most people now a days should consider keeping a good portion of their money out of the market. What do you mean by that, Victor? The market has been doing well this year, you may say. It’s a bull market. I’m not giving investment advice here. I’m going to share some information, and I want you to use your common sense as you read and listen.

One of the Ten Principles of Money Mastery is seeing the big picture. You can’t look at what the stock market is doing now and base your whole financial future on it. But that’s what people do. They get in…they get out of the stock market, make decisions that affect their future, based on what going on right now or on what some Wall Street guru just said. Very little of that information is accurate long term, as you will see.   (more…)

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope you have an absolutely wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. It really is a wonderful time of year. So much of the time we live such busy lives that we don’t stop to think how blessed we really are….how much we really have to be thankful for. I know this year has been one of major transition for Tina and me as I have made a permanent move to Alabama, leased the house in Atlanta, and started a whole new business. It’s been quite a ride. As I look back on it, I can see that God has been at work in all of it. And now I have to take some time to just thank God for all he has accomplished for us this year….even all the little things we sometimes forget that are so important in order for the major things to happen. Then I think of so many of the things we take for granted on a daily basis. Lord don’t let us forget the little things of life that take place each and every day that make our lives comfortable, bearable, and even significant.   (more…)

The Power of the Human Spirit

I was reading my book by Steven Scott, The Richest Man Who Ever Lived, King Solomon’s Secrets to Success, Wealth, and Happiness. He was writing about the right way to offer criticism. Now there’ an interesting subject. How easy is it for us to accept criticism. Even more important, how to offer it the right way. He referenced a verse in Proverbs 18:14. It reads, ” The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit?” That verse really got me thinking. I thought about my past and when were the lowest points of my life. I can think of a couple times when I thought my spirit was just crushed. I felt as if I was broken….so what comes next I thought. Where do I go from here? What’s the use? Oh I never thought of hurting myself, but checking out for a while crossed my mind.  (more…)

Assets and Liabilities

assets and liabilities

I will admit that for most of you, this subject is boring. How about this. Wealth and Riches! Is that more exciting? How many of you would like to be rich? Come on Victor, I’m not some greedy person that just lives to be rich some day. Ok….but if someone handed you five million dollars, would you turn it down? If you won the lottery, would you give it all up? I didn’t think so. Look folks, what I’m talking about is true financial prosperity in your life. Not having to worrying about money ever again and living life on your terms. How about that? That’s being rich, isn’t it? Well…understanding assets and liabilities will get you there.

I don’ want you to look at me like the “guru” on this subject. Below is a video from the ultimate guru, Robert Kiyosaki. I will let him tell you about assets and liabilities in his own words. I’ve included a little introduction from yours truly…me. What most people think is an asset really isn’t. You need to understand this concept so you can start putting your financial priorities in order. You need to spend your financial life acquiring assets. Not liabilities (debt). If you don’t, you may end up as a Walmart greeter some day.  (more…)

“Workers Saving Too Little To Retire”

The above title is from an article that appeared in the Wall Street Journal March 19, 2013. As a financial consultant, I am drawn to such articles. I know from 20 years of experience that one of the main questions for families when it comes to thinking about retirement is, “How much do I need to save for retirement”?

The article states according to the Employee Benefits Research Institute, 57% of US workers surveyed reported less than 25,000 in total household savings and investments, excluding their homes. (more…)

Your 401K vs Your Private Bank

I was on my yahoo page looking at the stock market news. I saw a headline: Wall Street down on growing default concerns. I began to think how headlines like those affect the average individual or family, especially those with 401Ks plans or IRAs. I know from phone calls I’ve received from clients in the past that headlines, many times, worry them. So I decided to shoot a quick video to share some of my knowledge and opinions regarding the stock market as it is today.

They Call it The God Particle

I wondered what to write for my inaugural blog post. You may wonder what this subject, The God Particle Found, has to do with my website. Well…I probably won’t always write about getting out of debt and creating your family bank on this blog. I want to provide you with great information, but I want you to become more acquainted with me as well.

God Particle FoundHaving said that, this subject is very much relevant to the purpose of this website. I was reading this article about the origins of the universe. It’s very interesting. It talks about the particle of matter that’s the key to making all of creation possible. Peter Higgs first wrote about it in the 60s, but it was just theory. Last year it was physically discovered and verified. Commentators, not scientists, have called it the “God Particle”. Go HERE now to read the article.
